Antisol® S

Antisol S is a ready-to-use aqueous solution of metallic silicate. When applied to fresh concrete, Antisol S forms a micro-crystalline seal in the concrete pores reducing the evaporation rate of moisture from the mix, and thus assisting in the complete hydration of the cement. It is chloride free.

Antisol S is particularly recommended for the treatment of vertical surfaces which are to receive subsequent treatments where resin based curing membranes would be unsuitable because of their uncertain film breakdown, and the effect on the performance of further surface treat-ments. Antisol S may be applied to “green” concrete to increase the density of the cured surface thus improving its subsequent durability.

CHARACTERISTICS

- Non-toxic

- Helps concrete to attain maximum hydration, strength, durability and surface hardness

- Becomes an integral part of the surface which assists long term curing and gives dust proofing properties

- Non-flammable and suitable where solvent based systems are undesirable

- Reduces shrinkage with associated hairline cracking and crazing in vertical and horizontal applications

- When used correctly, adhesion of subsequent treatments to concrete surface is not impaired

- Allowing light foot traffic after 24 hours

Vertical surfaces: After striking shutter, dampen down the concrete thoroughly with fresh water. Allow the surface water to drain off before applying Antisol S either with standard spray equipment or brush (spray applications are preferred for full coverage). Observe that the surface is fully wetted.

Horizontal surfaces
: Apply Antisol S with spray equipment immediately after trowelling when all bleed water has disappeared. Ensure that the surface is free of water and do not, in any instance, apply less than the recommended coverage. To obtain optimum performance from the system, it is recommended that Antisol S should be applied at the earliest practical application after the concrete surface is ready to receive the curing compound.

All surfaces
: If the concrete is exposed to direct sunlight with high temperature (plus 23°C) or severe dry wind, protect the surface with a polyethylene sheet of 2 - 3 hours after applying Antisol S to allow time for crystal formation. The polyethylene sheet should be in direct contact with the surface to maximise the benefits.

HEALTH AND SAFETY INFORMATION

Avoid contact with skin, glass and paintwork as this product is alkaline. Wear gloves and goggles.

Antisol S is non-hazardous in normal use, but in the event of accidental spillage, wash off with copious amounts of cold water.
