Lemax Polyurethane

Lemax Polurethane is a liquid, cold applied, seamless, electrometric membrane, between slab waterproofing system which provides superior protection against the penetration and lateral movement of water.

Lemax Polurethane is a single component, moisture curing, and bitumen modified polyurethane, specially formulated for hand application by squeegee to horizontal surfaces. Applied directly from the container, no mixing is required. Lemax Polyurethane is supplied in 20 litres/ pail only.

Lemax Polurethane is formulated for application by roller to horizontal and some vertical surfaces. It is designed especially for use as a flexible continuous waterproofing membrane: above grade, between two course concrete, between masonry construction and bituminous toppings and for exterior below grade waterproofing of masonry.

SURFACE PREPARATION
1.1  Lemax polyurethane shall be applied directly onto the concrete surface after the following surface preparation work had been completed.
1.2  The concrete shall be powerfloated or steel trowelled acceptable to the waterproofing specialist for the application of Lemax Polyurethane waterproofing membrane. Where the concrete is too rough and the surface is uneven and a lot of protrusion a cement and sand screed of 25mm thick with a mixture of (1 : 4) shall be laid to falls towards all outlet and gutters.
1.3  The surface of the screed shall be lightly steel trowelled to a fairly smooth finish. The new screed must  be properly water cured at least 7 days before the application of Lemax polyurethane.
1.4  Prior to the application ofLemax Polyurethane, the surface of the concrete need to be inspected for cracks, construction joints, expansion joints and honey combs. They have to be treated by pre-striping as described inLemax Polyurethane brochures.
1.5  After the surface treatment, just prior to or during the application, all dust, dirt and other contaminants must be removed by broom or  preferably vacuums.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

2.1  The entire surface of the concrete must be allowed to cured thoroughly for at least 14 days before any application can be done.
2.2  Lemax polyurethane waterproofing membrane is a liquid, cold applied, seamless, elastomeric single component moisture curing bitumen modified polyurethane, specially for formulated for had application by using squeeze to vertical or horizontal surface. Applied directly from the container, no mixing is required.
2.3  Mark up areas of approximately thirteen (13) m² per pail of 20 litres to achieve the final average thickness of 1.4 mm. This can be done by marking a area of thirteen (13) m² and pour 20 litres of Lemax Polyurethane and evenly applied the content with a rubber edged notched squeegee by the rate of 1.65 litre / sq.m to achieve 1.4 mm thick of the waterproofing membrane.
2.4  The whole procedure is repeated from area to area until the whole roof surface is covered with Lemax Polyurethane. and ensuring that the membrane are overlapped at least 50 mm between coats.
2.5  For overnight application all joint or edge must have at least 100mm overlapping of Lemax Polyurethane.

PROTECTIVE PANEL
(50mm thick cement/sand (1:4)
On completion of theLemax Polyurethane membrane  it shall be covered as soon as possible by protective screed and if possible after 3 working days. A time frame of  exposure of the membrane shall not exceed for more  than one month .A cement/ sand (1 : 4) protective screed of 50mm thick shall be laid on the entire waterproofing system and embedded with BRC A4 in panels of 2m x 2m and joint of 20mm x 20mm and the joints to be filled with Lemax Bituminous sealant with backer rod as base.
