A versatile and economical concrete plasticizer with a wide dosage range for various applications. Plastiment BV 40 complies with ASTM C494 Type A.

Plastiment BV 40 is used whenever high quality structural concrete is required. Its plasticizing effect is particularly useful where:

- Exposed surfaces are important

- Maximum performance is designed

- Placing conditions are difficult

- Poor quality aggregates are found

- Pre-cast elements are produced

Plastiment BV 40 provides the following properties:

- Improved workability without increasing water

- Allow substantial cement reduction compared to plain concrete

- Reduced water without loss of workability

- Increased strength

- Improved surface finish

- Unaffected settig time

- Reduced shrinkage and creep

- Chloride free - does not attack reinforcement

Dosage: 0.30 – 0.60 ltr per 100 kg of cement

Typical dosage: 0.30 – 0.50 ltr. per 100 kg of cement.
For improved concrete in normal application use 0.3 ltr.
For more demanding situations use 0.5 ltr.

Compatibility: Possible to combine with all Sikament, Sika Aer, Sika Pump, Sikacrete PP1, but must be added separately to the mix and not pre-mixed prior addition.

Cement types: All Portland cement including sulfate resistant cement

Dispensing: Plastiment BV 40 can be added to the mixing water prior to its addition to the dry mix or separately to the freshly mixed concrete (at batching plant or at job site into the truck mixer).

Overdosing: When accidental overdosing occurs, this will have the effect of extending the setting time. During this period the concrete must be kept moist in order to prevent premature drying out. Ultimate strength will not be affected.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

Avoid contact with foodstuffs and utensils. Avoid prolonged skin contact. In the event of contamination wash thoroughly with water. If the eyes or mouth are affected wash with clean water and obtain medical attention immediately.
