Sikament 163 EX-HV is used as highly effective water-reducing agent and superplasticizer for the production of high strength concrete in hot climates. The dual action of Sikament 163 EX HV promotes accelerated hardening with high early and ultimate strength. Sikament 163 EX HV complies with ASTM C494 Type A & F.

USES
As a superplastiziser, Sikament 163 EX HV is used for flowing concrete in:

- Slabs and foundations

- Walls and columns

- Slender components with densely packed reinforcements

- Beams
As a substantial water-reducing agent, Sikament 163 EX HV is used where high early and ultimate strength is required, such as:

- Prestressed concrete

- Concrete elements manufactured in precast factories, where rapid demoulding and early loading application is required

- Bridges and cantilever structures

Sikament 163 EX HV provides the following properties:

- Substantial improvement in workability without increased water

- Accelerated hardening after setting

- Significant increase of early and ultimate strength, by over 30%

- Especially suitable for concreting at elevated temperatures

- Increased water tightness

- Improved surface finish

- Reduced shrinkable and creep

- Chloride free. Does not attack reinforcement

- Increased resistant to wear and abrasion

Dosage: 0.6 – 1.4 ltr per 100 kg of cement

Typical dosage: 0.8 – 1.2 ltr per 100 kg of cement

Compatibility: Possible to combine with all Sikament, Sika Aer, Sika Pump, Sikacrete PP1, but must be added separately to the mix and not pre-mixed prior addition.

Cement types: All Portland cement including sulfate resistant cement.

Dispensing: Sikament 163 EX HV can be added to the gauging water prior to its addition to the dry mix or separately to the freshly mixed concrete (on the batching plant or on site into the truck mixer). When added directly to the freshly mixed concrete, the plasticizing effect is more pronounced. For ready-mix concrete, Sikament 163EX HV is added to the concrete immediately prior to discharge and after further mixing has taken place for three minutes.

Overdosing: Accidental overdosing of Sikament 163 EX HV causes an extension of the initial setting time. However, no excessive amount of additional air will be entrained.

Sika products are generally quite harmless, provided normal precautions are taken when handling chemicals. Avoid contact with foodstuffs and utensils. Avoid prolonged skin contact.
