A highly effective superplasticizer with a set retarding effect for produc- ing flowable concrete in hot climate and also a substantial water reduc- ing agent for promoting ultimate strength. Sikament MP complies with ASTM C494 Type D & G.

Sikament MP is used as a superplasticizer and set-retarding admixture in structural and mass concrete where long lasting slump and a con- trolled extension of setting time is required, such as:

- Large volume pours

- Long hauls concrete

- Foundations

- Floor slabs

- Slender components with densely packed reinforcement

- Walls, columns, beams

Sikament MP provides the following properties:

As a superplasticizer with set retarding effect::

- Highly effective without increased w/c ratio

- Lasting control of slump loss

- Controlled setting time

- Avoidance of cold joints

- No adverse effect on ultimate strength

As a water reducer:

- Strength significantly increased

- Allow substantial cement reduction compared to plain concrete

- Especially suitable for hot climate

- No excessive air entrainment

- No adverse shrinkage effect

- Improved surface finis

Dosage: 0.60 – 1.80 ltr per 100 kg of cement

Typical Dosage: 0.80 - 1.40 ltr per 100 kg of cement

1.40 - 1.80 for special Bone Pile application

Compatibility: Possible to combine with all Sikament, Sika Aer, Sika Pump, Sikacrete PP1, but must be added separately to the mix and not pre-mixed prior addition.

Cement types: All Portland cement including sulfate resistant cement.

Dispensing: Sikament MPcan be added directly to the gauging water prior to its addition to the dry mixed aggregates or simultaneously with the gauging water at the batching plant.When added directly to the freshly mixed concrete, the plasticizing effect is more pronounced. For addition at job site, Sikament MP is added to the concrete immediately prior to discharge and after further mixing has taken place for three minutes.

Overdosing: Significant overdosage will result in increased workability and setting time of the concrete. However, provided concrete is cured effectively, ultimate strength and properties will not be affected.
